This red wine grape was created in 1927 by Zenbei Kawakami, known as the father of Japanese wine for his contribution to the cultivation of wine grapes. It’s a breed. It is characterized by light acidity and moderate astringency. Then, carefully pickled Nankobai made by Mr. Chuzaburo Matsushita, who is known as a ume-growing master in the southern part of Kishu. The large ume harvested just before they are fully ripe have a strong sweetness. The umeshu also reflects the individuality of the ume, creating an exquisite umeshu with a rich, peach-like aroma and a refreshingly sour taste. You can savor it slowly on the rocks, or chill it and enjoy it straight or mixed with soda for a refreshing taste. It is a versatile umeshu that is easy to match with a wide range of situations.
